I am Malak Jamil, a Smart Systems and Computer Engineering student.
I graduated from high school with excellent grades, and it has always been my dream to study engineering and help build a better future.
My family once lived in peace and stability, but war destroyed everything in an instant. Our home in the north was completely demolished and turned to rubble. We lost everything—our memories, our dreams, and the life we once knew.
Today, we live in a tent after being forcibly displaced, trying to adapt to a harsh new reality that lacks even the most basic necessities of life.
Our family is large—my mother, my sisters, and my brothers, all of whom are married with children. Despite our numbers, the severe conditions we face make it nearly impossible to afford even the essentials. Life has become so expensive that some days, we struggle to find flour just to bake bread.
My sister Maali suffers from partial paralysis and severe bedsores. Since we moved into the tent, her condition has worsened due to the heat, humidity, and lack of hygiene. She also suffers from anemia and needs nutritious food and continuous medical care. We need to provide disinfectants, gauze, and other medical supplies. She also requires a pack of diapers every three days, each costing 150 shekels. This has become an unbearable financial burden for us.
Another sister, Mais, is currently preparing for her high school exams (Tawjihi). She’s doing her best to continue her education despite all the hardships, believing that education is the only path forward.
My youngest sister, Majd, helps my mother take care of Maali and manage our daily life in the tent. Although she is still young, she carries a heavy load of responsibilities and helps however she can.
Our father passed away and left us with a small pension, but since the war began, the occupation has stopped the payments. We now have no source of income and rely solely on your kindness and donations to survive.
In addition to all these burdens, I have a personal dream that I still cling to: to continue my university studies and be able to pay my tuition fees so I can complete my degree in Smart Systems Engineering. I dream of graduating and being part of rebuilding this country, but the current situation is threatening that dream.
Every day is a struggle for survival. We try to stay strong and adapt, but we are in urgent need of your support. Any contribution—no matter how small—makes a huge difference. Whether it goes toward Maali’s medical care and food, Mais’s school supplies, basic food like flour, or my university fees, your help keeps us going.
Important note: Due to the situation in Gaza, any amount we withdraw is subject to up to 50% in commissions.
We still believe in hope—and your support gives us the strength to keep going.
Thank you to everyone who reads our story and extends a helping hand.
